The increased rate of glacier melt has been apparent in Greenland for some years, but I thought we were much safer here in the South.Being part of a wider World, we are not exempt. To learn more go here: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/03/130327133707.htm

This is a new web site which aims to take detailed scientific research on climate change and present it in a simple understandable way. There are many different sciences involved so very few people understand the whole subject in detail and so here I am trying to give a shortened but accurate overview. Very often the cause and effect are known but not the length of time before we see the results. However the climate is changing much faster than anyone predicted (except perhaps James Hansen) twenty years ago and the whole subject is becoming more urgent. Climate change has started and there are already effects apparent. I am hoping the here we can report of the effects in New Zealand here and now . To start with the site will deal with the science and the forecasts but if I can gain enough supporters I hope we can use political influence to plan for the future. New Zealand is a small country with only two degrees of separation, surely some one we know has the ear of someone with influence. . This new temperature record shows how the World was cooling until we started farming about 4000 years ago and then started burning fossil fuels about 150 years ago.
